Funding under this investments represents Australia's support to the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) to undertake a Transnational Organised Crime Threat Assessment (TOCTA) for South-East Asia. This will provide valuable information for use by Australian operational agencies such as the Australian Federal Police (AFP), the Australian Border Force (ABF) and their international partners in fighting crime and drugs. The TOCTA will be a public document and provide evidence for decision making by South-East Asian countries on transnational and organised crime. It will provide data and information on emerging transnational and organised crime trends to inform operational activities and cooperation between Australian and SEA agencies. In particular, it will highlight the income sources supporting the activities of these transnational criminal organisations. The total value of this investment is $0.4 million over 3 years, starting 2016-17.
